Mental Well-Being in the Music Community

Following an inspiring time at the East Coast Music Awards last week in Halifax, the music community continues to gather this week in Toronto for Canadian Music Week. Aligning with the Canadian Mental Health Association Mental Health Week May 7-13th, Unison Benevolent Fund is joining the conversation to #GetLoud about mental health with panels about mental well-being in the music industry.

Gord Downie
October 18th
Armed with will and determination, and grace too

The Unison Board of Directors and staff are deeply saddened to learn of Gord Downie’s passing last night.

Gord Downie was a tireless Canadian music maker, who didn’t let a moment of his time or his voice, go to waste. He never stopped telling us our own stories, championing their value and through his music, calling us to greater love and understanding.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Gord’s family, his bandmates, management team, friends and to all of his fans.

On The Hip’s final tour this summer, Gord told us to take care of each other. And we will.
