Music allows us to express ourselves, feel heard, and understood. Sometimes the right song is all it takes to lift your spirits. We wanted to share some of the go-to happy songs that our office staff have on their personal playlists. From classic rock to the latest pop hits, there’s something for everyone on this list.

"Hope" by T. Thomason

T. Thomason’s take on “Hope” is an anthemic pop single that can lift your spirits and make you feel invincible.

"I Got A Love" by Noyz

Mixing hip hop with jazzy elements and hopeful lyrics, this lighthearted single from Noyz is sure to get stuck in your head and make a bad day better.

"Cut Loose" by Zaki Ibrahim

The laid back groove of Zaki Ibrahim’s “Cut Loose” is the perfect tune for easy listening when you need a break at the end of the day.

Favourite lyric: “Forget about what you need until you cut loose, it’s your turn. You better know, but you don’t until you cut loose.”


“Prémonition” by Coeur de pirate

Coeur de pirate works through her own anxieties in her latest album, En cas de tempête, ce jardin sera fermé. While the lyrics are melancholic, the song’s bright and catchy chorus reminds us that light can be found after darkness.

A little dose of nostalgia will have you reminiscing and smiling at good memories, and that’s exactly what happens when you listen to Bryan Adams’ classic “Summer of ‘69.”

“Ordinary Day” by Great Big Sea


Great Big Sea channels East Coast sunshine and carefree melodies in this classic tune.

There’s nothing like a high energy classic rock song that you can sing along to at the top of your lungs to brighten your day.

“My Music at Work” by The Tragically Hip

No list of Canadian music would be complete without a mention of The Tragically Hip. While the lyrics to this song may be poignant at times, its driving rhythms and catchy hook will get you grooving in no time –– maybe take a cue from the video and start a dance party in your office.
