Like most things, working towards a healthier state-of-mind takes intention. Staying consistent with implementing even the smallest self-care habits into your weekly schedule can allow you to cultivate an environment where you can flourish, both in your personal and professional life.

Sleep

Rest is productive! Try to strive for 8 hours of sleep when possible and take quick 10 to 20-minute-long naps to reduce sleep debt and re-energize you for the rest of the day.

Community

Surround yourself with friends you feel comfortable talking to if you are having a rough day. Make an effort to ask a friend to coffee or over for dinner. If you find yourself away from those you love, join a community with a shared common interest, like the local book club or recreational sports team.

A Morning Routine

A structured routine can help your life feel more manageable and give you the confidence you need to take on the day. Take it easy, eat something nourishing, and practice being present.

Creativity

Aim to create something every day. Make a gratitude list, make a new meal, make someone a small gift, or work on making a new piece of art.

‘Distractions’

It’s important to make time for the smaller things that bring you joy or peace. Schedule in time to watch your favorite television show or surf the net so that your much needed break can feel guilt-free.
