Canada Performing Arts Workers Resilience Fund

On May 2, 2022 the Government of Canada announced The Unison Fund as a recipient of the Canada Performing Arts Workers Resilience Fund.  We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage for the commitment of support to the Canadian live music industry.

Building off the success of the existing Unison Financial Assistance Program, The Live Music Workers Fund program will provide financial relief to qualified independent and self-employed workers in the live music sector to support themselves and their families with basic living expenses – groceries, shelter (rent), and medical expenses.  Successful applicants will receive a one-time payment to be used towards the life necessities they deem most urgent.  Unison does not provide financial assistance for business related expenses.

We anticipate going live with with a new application portal on July 6, 2022. Previously successful recipients of the Unison Financial Assistance Program may re-apply for funding.

Applicants who do not qualify for financial support under the Live Music Workers Fund program will be verified and processed through the already existing Unison Financial Assistance Program.  All eligible applicants, no matter their occupation in the Canadian music industry, will be supported by Unison.

Please follow @unisonfund and sign up for our newsletter for the latest news. The application portal for both funding programs will be available soon at www.UnisonFund.ca. Please do not email staff until the application portal has opened as additional information will be made available at that time.
